Newly licensed individuals must complete a four-hour annuity best-interest course and insurer-specific product training before soliciting annuity sales. Different transition provisions applied to agents previously trained under the earlier suitability standard.
Long-Term Care Training
Agents selling, soliciting or negotiating long-term care insurance generally need eight hours of initial training and four hours of ongoing training during each Wisconsin renewal period, including Wisconsin-specific content.
Life Settlement Training
Wisconsin life settlement brokers generally need eight hours of initial training followed by four hours of training every 24 months, completed at no less than two hours during each 12-month period.

Are any Wisconsin agents exempt from continuing education?
A resident agent holding only certain limited-line licenses may be exempt from the general CE requirement. Confirm your license type and individual compliance record with Wisconsin OCI or State Based Systems.
